Final goodbye for early web icon

A web browser that gave many people their first experience of the web is set to disappear. Netscape Navigator, now owned by AOL, will no longer be supported after 1 March 2008, the company has said. Blueprint - CSS framework

I have recently been playing around with a CSS framework called Blueprint 0.7.1. This framework was built around using a grid system and typography. Part of the experiment was to use my site to test it out. So far, it has been quite good as well as disappointing. It was supposed to ease the CSS development but when you add all the CSS files together there where more work to be done than to cut down on development time.  read more »

A photography site i always come back to

If there are any sites on tutorials or information about Digital Photography check up on for some great tips, then The Luminous Landscape is surely one of them. I must admit the site design is poor but the wealth of information is amazing. I seriously recommend bookmarking the website if you're into Photography like myself.

IE8's default version targeting behaviour

Recently there has been quite a heated debate about the new IE8 in the making. To understand what 'Target Versioning' means, you can read the article at A List Apart. Just when i thought it was going to be awhile before the next release of Joomla was made available, it came as a surprise to suddenly see yet another release. This is a minor fix but a critical one so i decided to update a8eJoomla to version 1.0.15 to keep up with security. Drupal 6.0 released

Fantastic news! Now we just need to wait for contributed modules to update to work with Drupal 6 as well, which isn't going to be long at all...

There are huge improvements in this version for usability and theming as well as internationalisation.

a8eJoomla 1.0.14 Stable Full Package and is the final maintenance release

I have packaged the final version before the project is handed over to Kevin who will continue the development. I wish Kevin all the best and hope the community supports him in this.

Security announcement for Joomla! 1.5 - XML-RPC issue

After releasing Joomla! 1.5 stable we have discovered a high priority security issue. The vulnerability has been discovered in XML-RPC in combination with the blogger API. There is a security problem in this code that makes it possible to alter the articles on your site (including removal). This problems has been fixed currently by members of the development team and the Joomla! bug squad, solution is now available from Subversion. So what do you need to do until we release Joomla! 1.5.1?

Geek Question: Hits Versus Visits

Some remote site makes a request for a page on your server for the first time. As long as the same site keeps making requests within a given timeout period, they will all be considered part of the same Visit. If the site makes a request to your server, and the length of time since the last request is greater than the specified timeout period (default is 30 minutes).
