Magento 1.0 (Production Release)

Magento 1.0

The long awaited production ready version of Magento is out.

This is good news as I've been involved in project to setup an ecommerce shop for selling t-shirts but development had been postpone due to some disagreement with a printing company.

Now that they have found another one to print the t-shirts, we have started the ball rolling again on the site. However, bad news is that i'm still trying to convince my client to go with Magento. Let's hope they'll agree very soon...

Initially, it was going to be developed using Virtuemart. Even though i like Virtuemart a lot it does come with many limitations compare to Magento. So for short-term it would have worked well but i often like to see the long term prospect of a client site to succeed and have the flexibility to incorporate more features as the site grows and meet the demands of their customers to bring in more profit which i believe Magento is extendible enough for this to happen. Just compare the features between the two and you'll see the big difference.

If you are considering opening a shop, there's no better time than now, give Magento a try.

Magento

There´s nothing more to say than "give Magento a try". I believe that the tool will be the benchmark in open source shop-solutions within the next 12 month. Of course there are still some bugs, but I´m sure that this will be fixed very soon and the performance-problems are not valid for me because professional software needs professional hardware. In that case, there will be no performance problems. I´m enthusiastic about Magento.
