Today, while I was doing a quick search on Google on my own site to see what result it will bring up, I was surprised to find a broken link which took a user to /taxonomy/term/CrossBrowserTesting.com page that doesn't exist on my site. Does it matter if the same website can be access with www. and without?

Generally if a website can be reached by both www. or without in the domain name, it really doesn't matter much as this article will tell you. However, some SEO guru will argue that search engine will treat this as two separate pages, therefore can cause duplicate contents which isn't good. I'm still not 100% sure about this but to be safe it should be done anyway. read more »

Yes, i got excited and just had to blog about this. Thanks to Naveenpl for recommending Search404 module. What's that? i hear you cry. It's a module to replace your error 404 pages (pages that does not exist on your site when someone tries to search for it by typing in a URL that does not exist). So search404 steps into play and tries to match what they are trying to search for.

Some remote site makes a request for a page on your server for the first time. As long as the same site keeps making requests within a given timeout period, they will all be considered part of the same Visit. If the site makes a request to your server, and the length of time since the last request is greater than the specified timeout period (default is 30 minutes).

The internet today is full of webmasters that are always updating, editing and even deleting web pages.

Lets say you are updating your website completely, changing the names of page's filenames (ex: file.html to file.php) and so on, this is great, you should stay updated! But what if you want to get rid of those old pages without having to worry about those who go to the old web page and see nothing? It doesnt end there either, other visitors do include major search engines such as MSN, Google and Yahoo! If people are finding your old pages when querying in these search engines, and they attempt to go to that page that has been deleted or moved, they will get a "404 File Not Found" Error!
