IE8 Beta is out for downloads

Microsoft has released a beta version of IE8 for testing. One of the welcome additional i think all web developers will appreciate is the version targeting using the X-UA-Compatible header, for example:

<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=8" />

They also claim that IE8 will be standard compliant, let's just hope so. read more »

Recently there has been quite a heated debate about the new IE8 in the making. To understand what 'Target Versioning' means, you can read the article at A List Apart. Basically, it requires developers to use the new X-UA-Compatible HTTP header (or the meta equivalent) in order to take advantage of the standards-based layout and scripting improvements in the IE8. read more »
